International Childrens Day

Last week we had to do a slide show about children's day. We had to choose a place to do. The place we choose we have to write about that place and about what children can do there. I choose to do Ice Land. All of the class had to choose a place to do and if we did not have a Chromebook we had to pair up with someone else but both of you have to do another slide. My Letter To A Sportsperson

 For the past couple of weeks, we have been doing sports heroes. We had to do a letter to our sports heroes but before we did that we had to make a sports profile of our hero and write about why we think they are a hero. I tried to make the letter have a bit of info about him and why I think he is my sports hero. Here is my writing.

Dear, Mr Malcolm 

My name is Carla and I am a student at Hornby high. In school for the last few weeks, we have been doing some work on sports heroes. We did profiles on a person we think is a hero. I chose you as my sports hero because you are inspiring to me.

Over the last two week, we had to learn about our favourite sports heroes. I was impressed that you can drive two sports car and you can change from a non-contact sports car to a contact sports car and also not forget that you are in a non-contact sports car. I thought that it would be hard to have two sports cars but you now changed that with you having two sports cars and one of them being contact and the other one being non-contact.

I was really impressed by your sporting achievements. There are lots of sporting achievements that I could talk about with people and they would not have a clue what I’m talking about. I remember going to Nelson to watch the PTS Superstock Stampede and seeing you race and letting other people win the Stampede.

Thanks for being my Sports Hero.

The Children's War Task

Last week in reading we had to read a book called The Children's War. After we read the book we had to task to do. The task was like the game bingo because you had to do the task and then you mark it off and you had to do 3 different tasks to make a bingo. Here is my work.

An interesting fact that I found was that the children got lots of money and they gave it to the

red cross and to the poor kids which were pretty kind of them because they could have just

kept the money.

My opinion of the book was that it was boring but there were some interesting things in the

story.

I learnt that children had a lot of responsibility then what children have now and that it is easier

to get money than it is now. 

Weekly Reflection

 Today we have to do a weekly reflection about whats has happened this week and what we think about it . Here is my weekly reflection. 

This week I am proud that if finished all my work that I needed to do. I struggled this week when we done the writing assessment because I didn't know what to write about.This week I enjoyed doing athletics day because I didn't have to do much work and we got to get out the class room. I think this week has been a good week. Next week I want to finish all my work on time.

Hands On Fire

Hands on Fire

Aim: To light your hands on fire safely

Safety: 

Glasses.

Hair back.

Take of any lose clothes and stuff on writs.

Know where the fire extinguisher is.

Method:

1.Collect your equipment.

2.Put some water in tray.

3.Put some detergent.

4.Put on your safety glasses.

5. tie back any long hair.

6.Take off any jewellery.

7.Wash water on your arms up to your elbows.

8.Make bubbles in the water using the gas tap.

9.Lock your elbows.

10.Hold your hands together and scoop the bubbles.

100 Word Challenge

 Last week on Thursday we had to do a 100 word challenge. The photo we got given was a rat in a cup eating cheese with a cat behind the cup. I did exactly 100 words. Here is my work and the picture. 

One day I was walking alone and I found a house not thinking that there would be anyone in there so I went into the house. I was walking along the house and found the kitchen. I was walking to find something and soon I smelt cheese and I love cheese. I went to the cheese and saw that the cheese was in a cup. The cup was on the table and knocked it over so I could get in it. When I was eating the cheese I started hearing footsteps. Soon I could smell that it was a cat.
