P.E. - Balancing

In P.E Mrs McG gave us a challenge. We have been learning about balance for the past couple of weeks. She tested us with this course. We had to travel along the playground, balancing on the obstacle course without using our hands. It was really hard to get past the black tube part of the playground because it wobbled and slippy as we went across it. It was a fun challenge. We all had a couple of turns at it, only 1 person managed to complete the task successfully. We have learnt that to balance you need to use your arms to hold yourself steady, you need to use your muscles to support your body.

Making Straw Rafts.

In Inquiry we are learning about The Design Process. The Design Process is where you plan, design and test a product or theory. Sometimes when you test, doesn't work and you have start at the beginning again to see how you would make it better. Mrs McG gave us a challenge. We had to plan, design and build a straw raft to see if it floats with 50g of weight on  it. we could only use 20 straws and tape. Our raft failed 3 times because it was long and the straws where far away for each other. We did some research about how rafts float and found out that you need gravity and buoyancy to make a raft float. We found building our raft the most challenging because measuring the straws and putting them in the right spots.

Problem Solving - Popsicle Sticks - Maths

Today in math we split into our problem solving groups we got some Popsicle sticks and had to make 9 squares out of them. we had to make as many patterns with them as we can I made in the time we had I made 9 them in different orders and different numbers of them being connected. each person in the group made these and these are mine and I done by my self. started with making 9 squares and the problem solving part was how many sticks where there and the answer was 32 but some over people
I found challenging to move the sticks without them moving
I found easy making patterns with the sticks.

Pigeon Impossible

In literacy today we watched a short movie called Pigeon Impossible. The movie was about a very mysterious pigeon who tried to steal a bagel. Walter, The Secret Agent  needed to complete his mission. He stopped the explosion of the rocket but it didn't end exactly how he wanted it. We had the choice of 4 tasks. The first one was create a wanted poster for the Pigeon. You can do this on your device using slides or docs. the second activity was write another mission for Walter that could be spoilt by the Pigeon. The third activity was write a news report about the situation. You could create this on docs, slides or in your literacy book. And the last activity was create a comic strip to retell the story. I chose the wanted poster. Here is my work
