Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs Moral/Theme

 Last week we had to create a DLO about the moral and theme of the story. We could do it in pairs or by ourself. We had to do the DLO about the moral and theme of the story of a fairy tale. I was with Shanaya. We did our DLO on slides because it was easy and simple to use. The DLO had to say what the moral and theme means. Here is our DLO.

Novel Study Term 4 - Playing To Win

Today we got to choose the book we wanted to read. I asked Miss Birtch to help me choose he book because I didn't know what inspired me to read it and she choose Playing To Win by Fleur Beale. We got given two task to complete if we wanted to go to lunch. I choose who is the author? Do some research. Where are they from? Have they won awards? Why might your teacher have chosen this book for you to read? and I also choose open the book to any page. Read the page. Did you find what you read funny, interesting or dull? Why or why not? Fleur Beale has won several time in the New Zealand Post Children books. Fleur is a girl and she is from Inglewood in New Zealand up north. Her age is 75 years old. I think Miss Birtch choose me to read this book because I could handel what is going on and I like rugby and sports so I would be good for me to connect with the book and whats happening. I read page 61 and there was some drama on that page. Danny keeps thinking about Alice and keeps choosing what he does for her and not thinking about himself and whats good for him. Hope you Enjoyed

Speaking My Truth - Bullies

Yesterday we had Drama and we had to put the slide show that the teacher made on a blog. Last week we played games. I forgot what the games were but we did human statues. We had to put the Bullies script on here. We had to fold a piece of paper and write 1 - 6  in the corner. We had to draw photos of what we think is happening in the script. The Gingerbread Man Characterization

 Today we watched a video about the gingerbread man. We are learning about characterization. Here is the link to the video we watched. We have some questions to answer. Here are the answers. The protagonist is the gingerbread man because the story is about him. The antagonist is the animals and the old women and old man because they hate the gingerbread man and they don't want him to win. I think the gingerbread man is a static character because he doesn't change. The old man and old women are lonely people because it says in the story but it is only them two there and the old man is busy because he always has stuff to do but the old women is bored because she has nothing to do. The gingerbread man is a cheeky man because he keeps say "You can't catch me even if you tried" and he is also a rude man saying that the pig is fat and saying that you can't fool me. The gingerbread man is fast because he only stopped when he was talking to the animals.

Narrative Writing

Today since we finished our perspective drawing yesterday we had to make a narrative about our drawing. My story was about a girl with her friends and they went to the beach and there were sea animals on the sand dying and the girl tried to same them. Here is my story.


One day there was a group of friends biking down the street on the way to the beach. One of them saw a glimpse of a spike on the road but just thought it was a piece of glass. They continued biking until they got to the beach. They got off their bike and went to the beach but when they got there there was a big group of sea animals on the sand.


One of the friends ran down to the animals. She grabbed the bucket they brought with them and started to get water and ran to the animals and started to pour it onto them. Her friends tried to stop her. The girl started to cry and yell at her friends to let her save them but they were already dead. She finally got out of her friends arms and ran to her bike and went home.

Business And Enterprise

For the past 3 weeks we have been doing Business and Enterprise. We had to get into groups of 4 and brain storm what we wanted to do. My group was with Leo, Ej and Ruben. We could only have 2 of each year level and form group. In my group there was 2 Bh, 2 DS, 2 year 7 and 2 year 8s. My group is called Gift Pride. We are making pride stuff like bracelets and flag, ect. We are working on our poster for our table. Our next steps are finding our poster and making the slide show to present to the school. There's not much I'm excited for on market day but I'm excited for setting up our stand and selling it. Here is the slide show for our business plan.

Prespective Drawing

Yesterday we did perspective drawing. We made a road with trees on the side and mountains at the back. Perspective drawing is in your view and if when something is far away it is smaller and when it is close up it is bigger. I found it difficult to make the trees small and make the mountains. I think my final work is bad because I used colour but if I didn't put colours on. If I could remake it I would make the trees better and add colour on to it. Here is my drawing.

Types Of Characters

Today we started a the second half of speaking my truth. We are learning about different types of characters. Our teacher Miss Birtch stole some types of characters on a video we watched and is making us tell you the definition of the works. We have to add a example of a story/movie in the definition.. Here is the definitions.

Protagonist: The main character of the movie/story. Example Deku or Izuku Midoriya the main character of MHA.
Antagonist: The enemy of the main character. Example Katsuki Bakugou he hates Deku ever since childhood.
Narrator: The person the tells the story and whats happening.
Flat character: A character that isn't important. Example Cho Chang from harry potter she doesn't need to be in the movie (My opinion)
Dynamic character: A dynamic character can change over time. Example Annie from Rain fall she starts to change later on in the story.
Static character: A static character doesn't change. Example Menita from MHA is inappropriate person and doesn't change.
Round character: A round character is someone several traits and seems very realistic. Example Jack from Rain fall he has lots of traits and seems like a real person.

For the past week we have been doing research about Mental Health. I did my research about ASD and CHD. We had to make a DLO about the research we found. We got linked to limited websites. Protest DLO

For the past couple of weeks we have been learning about different types of protests that have happened. There were lots of protests. We had to make a DLO about protests. We had to answer some questions in the DLO. Here is my DLO.


Solar Oven

Last week we made a solar oven and today we used it. We had to go outside and put thins and 2 small marshmallows in the solar oven. We used foil, cardboard, tape and magnifying glass. It was good but not what I thought it would taste like. It used solar energy and it changed lots from when we first started it.

Car Shopping

For the past 2/3 weeks ago we started a new activity about cars. We had to make a DLO about car shopping. We got to choose 3 cars that we liked but over all we had to choose one car we would drive and would work. We had to do it in groups of 3 or 4. We were limited to sites but not all of them worked. My group didn't choose what one we would use all together. My group was with Casey and Kayden. The teacher said we have to answer some questions. I learnt how to use my money wisely and save it up. Inclusiveness

For the past two weeks we had started a new thing in Wānanga about Inclusiveness. We had to some discussions about it and watch some videos. The teacher said we have to tell you about a time we felt different in a group or a judgment. We had to make a copy of a slide that Miss Birtch made for us. Here is my DLO

War Letter To Family

Today we have to create a letter to our family and answer some questions. We have to add detail and what we thought it would be like there. We have to pretend that we are a boy in the war heading to fight with the British Empire. Here is my letter of what I would write to my family if I was in the war and the answers.

Letter:

Dear Family,

Sorry I haven't been sending you letters or replaying to you. I know its been more then 3 months since I sent you a letter. Its been a long 3 months since then but there's been lots of stuff going on right now Im sorry. I don't have much time left so i'm just going to tell you only a bit of stuff that's happened this 3 months. The trenches smell really bad you wont even last a day in and there fill with rats and flies. There has been lots of stuff that went wrong but there was a bit one. We landed at a cliff by the beach side not knowing where we were and then all the suddenly there were screams going from the cliff. Me and my friends have been on the feld all month with out food only water. Could you please send us some food for a month. There's been lots of attacks and lucky I haven't go hurt.

Answer:

1. Because they had to and some of them wanted to. Most off the people volunteered to go.
2. In Gallipoli they fighted there for eight months. In Passchendaele they fighted there for three months.
3. 16,000 New Zealanders died and 41,000 were wounded.
4. The out come was that when we were fighting Gallipoli was that we snuck out at night and also set up traps to think that we were still there.
